  40. UNI volleyball has two nationally televised games in in 2003! The first home game is Iowa State on September 9th.

  41. The 1999 University of Iowa Field Hockey team had a 19-2 record and went to the final four, where they played #1 seeded Maryland. It was the best defense in the country against the best offense in the country. Maryland prevailed in double overtime, to beat Iowa by a score of 2 to 1 and move on to win the national championship. The 2000 season begins on August 26th with a Hawkeye Invitational tournament. Iowa plays Louisville at 11 a.m. Saturday. They play either Boston or Richmond on Sunday.
